My Edge 520 and Samsung A10 are linked, but cannot sync. I've followed the permissions and storage advice on the help centre, and uninstalled and re-installed the app twice. This is only a recent problem occuring in the last weekend. Very frustrating!

What are the effects? Do you get an error message, or the white circle around the device icon closes and turns green with a bigger dot, after a while, and despite it no data from the Edge is loaded? Or the white circle never closes?

Yes both, sync starts, but then stops. Message in diagnostic is "Sync Failed".

Sorry, The green dot on the white circle around the device turns approximately 1/6 of a revolution then stops, while the white sync symbol turns, then stops.

  • In the Garmin Connect, app, go to Menu » Settings » Device Sync Audit, and have a look if you find more details about the reason of the failure. When in the audit, you can use the left/right arrows to navigate through the history of the audits, to see whether the error changes.

If the error speaks about a corrupted FIT file, you will need to fix it. Have a look at some of the FIT file repair threads here on the forum, or use the Section Remover (without removing anything) from the FIT File Tools website to fix a dammaged FIT file.

If the reason is not a damaged FIT file, have a look at diverse other tips from the Sync / Connection Troubleshooting Guide

Thanks, sounds complicated, but will try.
