Can I connect My Garmin 800 to my tablet using Garmin connect and a USB adaptor?

Can I connect My Garmin 800 to my tablet using Garmin connect and a USB adaptor? I no longer have a laptop/computer that I can download Garmin express onto. I want to be able to send courses to my Garmin so thought could i do this using a USB to USB adaptor to connect Garmin directly to tablet?

You can create courses directly on the phone app Garmin Connect Mobile, and should not need the USB cable for transferring them to the watch. Another possibility is using the phone app Garmin Explore.

My old Garmin edge 800 series doesn't have bluetooth has to be connected via a cable. I could update but it works really well

Ah, OK, in that case, I am afraid you need a Windows or a MacOS machine to run Garmin Express.

I also have a few "antique" Garmin devices that have no Bluetooth. It is necessary to use USB and a computer to transfer courses. The other option is to use the device itself and use an activity in its history to create a course.

Ok thanks, I've ordered a usb to micro usb adaptor, Ill give it a whirl see what happens. If it work great if not i've lost £2

You can also try searching the Edge 1000 forum, as that is the oldest device for which a forum exists.

Yes it works fine. Usb adaptor spot on. You then go to upload activity and open the folder, upload the file and it remembers location for next time Only works on the online log in not the app. But once uploaded is on the app aswell. I used it on both computer and my tablet will work on phone aswell but writing is a bit small for me on the online Garmin site on my phone
