Edge 510 bluetooth

I can no longer add my edge 510 to the garmin connect app on Samsung S8

I go through the  normal sequence, ensuring devices are discoverable, pairing etc, the phone picks up the edge, pass key is added then the connect app finds the phone tries to finish install then immediately disconnects with  message connection failed try again.

I've tried deleting the activities etc but same issue.

I can delete & reconnect my vivoactive 3 with no problems

Edge sw v 3.1, Connect build ver 4.30, Samsung S8

Any ideas what to do next?

  • If Edge is paired with any other phone, that is in the proximity, make sure you stop or remove the other phone first. Also try removing pairing to other BT device on the phone (or at least stopping the devices for the time of the pairing). Also try power cycling both the phone and Edge before the next attempt. Clearing Bloototoh cache on the phone might be also worth of trying.

  • I have exactly the same problem (same phone and edge).  At this point I wonder if it is a software issue on Garmin's end.  Perhaps this is a lower priority because we are using old Garmins.
