Step calories inconsistently

Why are calories burned through steps gone so inconsistently? One day 19,000 steps = 13 calories burned and another day 14,000 steps = 316 calories burned. Both days had about 7,000 step during a recorded activity.

  • Why are calories burned through steps gone so inconsistently?

Because there is no direct relation between steps and calories burned. It is the effort that counts, not the number of steps. And the effort is measured by the heart rate monitor - comparing your immediate HR with the average resting HR, hence you also need to assure that the watch can properly record your resting HR. Best it is done during the sleep, of course.
