Garmin Connect Android notifications have stopped unexpectedly. In order to restore notifications for your Garmin device, you will need to reboot your phone.

I get this message whenever I open up the Connect app. Rebooting my phone does absolutely nothing. I have tried everything available on the Garmin support centre to try and resolve this issue. I have contacted Garmin and they are utterly utterly useless. 

How can I resolve this issue?
