Calorie no count

Hi !

I'm sorry for my english because i'm a French guy.

I always use a garmin HRM-run to record my fc. My garmin is a forerunner 235

But, since 2 day the calories counter bug. Off course, when i practice HIIT ( 150 of average for my fc or mord during 30 minutes ) i found 52 kcal !

But only sometimes, for exemple this morning i practiced some strengtening and the calories counter was good.. The graph of the heartrate is good, so i don't understand what's happen.

Thank you ! And sorry for my english, I try to speak with no translater.

Maxime

  • The Calories burned during an activity are calculated on the basis of the difference between the immediate HR and the average resting HR. The average resting HR is best (and typically) measured during the night, when you sleep. If the device cannot measure your HR during the night, it attempts to get the resting HR during the day. It means if you wear the HRM belt only during the activity, the device sets the resting HR very high, and the difference HR-HRrest is much smaller than it should be, and hence also the Calories are strongly undercalculated.

In other words, you best wear the watch (or the HRM belt) during the night, and if not, then minimally during some periods of full rest (though the sleep is much better).

Oh ! Yes, I just turn on the watch before the activity and normaly I wear her all day along.

Thank you so much from Haute-Savoie Trux,

    • Have a nice day
