activity calories not registering in total calories burnt

On my Approach S60, when playing golf, burned calories are calculated automatically into total burned cal.  When in the gym I have to manually input burned calories for each session/routine/workout, but those calories are not calculated into the total burned calories...

Anyone know how to change that, if at all possible...??

Regards

  • If you keep wearing the watch 24/7, you do not need to enter any burned Calories manually - they are calculated automatically based on the differece of the immediate HR and the resting HR, regardless of what type of activity you do. Hence modifying the daily burned Calories is not necessary. And it is also not possible because of contractual reasons with insurance agencies, who increasingly use fitness devices for calculating health benefits, and cannot afford far too easy manipulation of the data.

As I wrote, you best wear the watch 24/7 - only in this way the device can reliably record your resting HR, and calculate so the burned Calories during an activity.

    Thx for the answer.

But why does it register calories burned during golf and not during workout in the gym??

What does the HR profile look like during the gym workout activity? Can you share the activity and post the link here?

    Is this what you mean?

Yes, that's it. As you can see, in the case of the gym Activity, for some reason, you have the average HR undetected, hence the Calories cannot be calulated (I assume the 554 kcal is what you entered manually). So first of all, you have to find out, why your HRM did not work during the gym activity.
