I remember that some time ago Garmin invited me to participate in beta testing, preceding one of the major app updates. I don't know why I was selected. Judging by feedback on this forum some users were invited while others (majority?) were not. The criteria for getting an invitation were unclear.
So answering your question directly, yes, it is possible to become a beta tester, but I cannot guide you on how to become one.
