My gear does not appear on activity neither tracking the activities

On the Gear page, click the arrow-down symbol right to the gear name, select Edit, and verify that the checkbox "Running" in the section Automatically Add to... is checked. You can also add the gear manually on the activity page by clicking the symbol or number right of the label Gear under the activity title.

Thanks a lot trux, it is weird as I have the checkbox ticked, that was my first thing to check before going here. I had to add the gear manually - didnt know there is the option. I really hope I wont have to do it after each activity.

Normally it works automatically, and when you add a new gear with the starting date in the past, there is an option to assign it to past activities as well. If it did not work, then there are three possibilities, as far as I can see:

1. Activity type for automated assignemnt not checked at the gear (you excluded it)
2. The starting date of the gear is greater than the date of the activity
3. The activity is not of the same type as selected at the gear
