Try using the audio jack

Well, if your phone does not have any, in Garmin Connect Mobile, tap the donut symbol (triple bar) on the left upper corner, scroll down to Settings, then User Settings, and there is all you need - tap on Gender to enter it, and fill in all the rest as well.
