Total steps reduced after update

Yesterday i completed just over 12,500 steps. My app updated today and is now showing less. It's the second time this has happened after an app update. Why?

    Was there an update of the app recently? I just checked and the currently available version on my side is still 4.28, just like already around two weeks ago. What is your new app version, and what was the original one?

    4.28 but mine was only updated this morning.

  • Hm, never happened to me after an app update. Could be perhaps device related - try posting the issue on the subforum for your watch model, to see whether there are other owners experiencing it.

    Also, have a look at the app's permissions, if it does not miss for example  storage permissions. And verify your User Settings in GC Web, whether Storage & Procesing and Device Upload are enabled.

    The phone's Live Steps counter does not show the true count synced to the online account, rather just the last value received from the watch. You have to sync the app with the online account to make sure it was saved - tap the sync symbol up right (the double arrow circle), and wait till the circle around the watch symbol closes and turns green - only then the syncing was complete and the steps saved online. You best do it before midnight, or before going to bed. It is also wise verifying whether the account really received the data - you can do it by viewing the daily data on the phone app too, but personally I always check my Steps Goal Streak on the Personal Records page in GC Web before going to sleep.

  • I have been having same issue.  I found that my website profile had a different time zone than my phone.  Since I changed the website time zone to match the phone the app seems to be updating steps correctly.
