But if it is really just a trail and not floors that you climb, then the difference may be simply dependent on the calibration of the altimeter of your watch, on the athmospheric conditions, and on your pace too - because when you just walk a slope, you need certain minimal pace (and vertical change) so that the elevation change is counted as a floor
