The heart rate displayed during activity is different than the garmin connect' values.

I have a Vivomove Type 3 wristwatch. During activity monitoring, the measured heart rate is ~ 150-160. After the activity I sync with my phone the activity is displayed. However, the maximum heart rate value in the Garmin connect was only 114 during activity. I used other activity function. The activity was one hour and for the last 20-25 minutes I was watching my heart rate above 160 throughout my watch. In the application I looked back at the graph there was a maximum of 114 and drew a randomly drawn graph for me. But I think the clock measured it properly during training.

  • Interesting! It would be nice if you could do just a brief test - first warming up with some intense workout, so that the HR is already high, then starting an activity to record the data just for a few minutes, and in the same time taking a video of the watch, so that you can compare the data physically once you stop. It may be easier doing it indoors while doing a streght workout or an indoors bike. Once you have both data, and the activity recording indeed does not match the video, then you have a nice evidence, that you can send to Garmin (and post here).

PS: I assume you do not wear any HRM belt, that could easily record different values than the optical HRM of the watch.

  • this is happening for me as well. I just performed a 5 minute amrap and while doing the activity my live heart rate was consistently 125. Once I synced the data it said my heart rate was 118 and for less then a minute. My heart rate was definitely 125 for the majority of the 5 minutes.

  • Also having this issue. The reading on the watch is consistently higher than the high recorded in the connect app.

That's normal. If you look at the daily graph and stats, then the values are averages over 2 minutes long intervals, hence any shorter peaks of HR are smoothed out.
