My vivoactive 3 stops recording elevation

My vivoactive 3 stops recording elevation after 1 or 2 runs, I have to reset defaults on the watch for it to work again but it ladts only for maybe 1 or 2 runs then it stops again so I have to repeat the process above again, any ideas ?

  • Perhaps the pressure sensor orifice is clogged with dirt or sweat. Do you clean the watch regularly?

PS: do not enter any sharp object into the sensor orifice, to avoid dammaging it.

The orifice is clean, nothing pushed into it either, I find it strange how it works for a run or two then stops which makes me think it's not a sensor issue but when I reset the defaults it works again ?

  • Well, I have no experience with Vivoactive 3 - you better ask that question on the Vivoactive forum - other users may give you the answer. On my Instinct, the sensor opening is on the bottom size and easily gets filled with sweat during an activity. Removing the sweat up and then during the activity, with a sleeve or with fingers of the other hand, helps, and keeps the altimeter working reliably.

    Ok thanks, will try that

  • Also check whether you use auto-calibration during an activity, and what mode - some models offer GPS and DEM (Digitial Elevation Model) type of calibration. Try turning it on and off, or change the modes, to see what diference it makes.
