gexporter needs internet connection

No idea what gexporter is, but  the problem is what exactly? You do not have any Internet connection?

iq map receiver and gpx fit exporter are apps you can install on the phone and with connect iq on the fenix5...then you've to connect the fenix5 with the phone...this app allows the transfer of gpx files on the phone to the fenix5 without internet connection on the phone...now, after a garmin connect upgrade, interner connectivity is needed...a huge disadvantage...

Yes I can verify what you are experiencing. I use the grouteloader app, which can download via GExporter & that no longer works unless I have a Internet/Data connection. 

Hm, as far as I know Garmin Connect always required an Internet connection for syncing, so if a plugin app suddenly needs to rely on Garmin Connect for transfering the data, then I would rather expect that either something changed in the IQ API, or in the app self. If you want to verify whether it really comes from Garmin Conect, and not from the IQ, or from the Gexporter app, install an older version of Garmin Connect. You can find archived versions on many websites, for example here: https://apkssl.com/garmin-connect%e2%84%a2/versions/ (note that the list is not sorted, so for example the previous version 4.26 is at the bottom of the list)

well, I don't use this apps that frequently, therefore I don't know with which version the change has come. I wrote to the app developer and he told me, that this comes from garmin connect and I believe him  because I have the same effect in to independent apps, both worked in the past perfect without internet connection
