Forerunner 235 notifications whilst recording

How do you view notifications whilst recording an activity? I see them pop up but can't view them without stopping the activity?

    Not sure about FR235, but when I press the GPS button (right top, on my watch) while the popup is still on the screen, I enter the notification. If it does not work with your FR235, you can always press the BACK button (right bottom, on my watch), to leave the activity screen without stopping it, scroll to the notification screen, and eneter it there. When done, you come back to the Activity by pressing the BACK button again. Of course, it assumes the BACK button is not defined as the lap button in the same time. You'd need to set a hot-key (not the BACK button) for the lap key.
