Fenix 6 connectivity issues after update

Garmin Connect Mobile on my Huawei Honor 8 (current Android OS) uploads one activity at a time from my Fenix 6. Connect Mobile indicates it's connected, but cannot sync again after one upload. I've tried various things, power cycling, reinstalling app, deleting cache, data, etc. If I forget the Fenix 6 and then re-pair, I can get one activity to sync again. I have to unpair and repair as though the watch is brand new for each activity to sync. This is isolated to Garmin Connect on Android. I have no syncing issues if I pair the Fenix to Garmin Connect on an iPhone. The issue is not with my phone or software, as I had no problems syncing before the most recent update.

  • Hm, many Huawei owners indeed experienced problems with a February release of Garmin Connect Mobile v4.27, but it was fixed relatively quickly in the v4.27.1. Check the version of your GC (in Menu » Settings), and if it does not tell v4.27.1, then update it in Google Play store.

If not, then check out this thread - there are also some tips specifically for Huawei owners. If nothing helps, you can install one of the older versions from an archived APK file. There are numerous APK archives on the web available. In the past, I used for example this one: https://apkssl.com/garmin-connect%e2%84%a2/ - the previous v4.26 is there listed too (you need to scroll down to the section Old versions).

However, the failure might perhaps been also caused by an update of the phone OS, or due to a corrupted BT or network cache, hence I would try clearing those first (the hints are shown in the above mentioned troubleshooting thread)
