Garmin Connect v4.27 failling

With the latest update of the APP, they have completely ruined the APP. Before that update, my Huawei P20 connected perfectly with both VivoActive 3 and Garmin Edge 810. Everything was correct, sinchronization, notifications, Live Track.

But after the update, nothing works. I lose the connectivity with the VivoSmart 3, I can't keep both devices connected on same time, I hardly manage to connect the VA3 to my phone and it get disconnected inmediatly. It's a nightmare.

Of course I've uninstalled the APP, erased user data on the phone, removed the Garmin Edge and VA3 from the mobile linked devices, and restarted again the connection process and it's still the same error.

Somebody knows if there's some kind of repository of old versions of the APP? It would be great to downgrade the current version until they fix it on a next update.

Kind regards.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I'll check the thread mentioned. I wasn't thinking on the phone as the issue origin cause there's quite a time I don't receive any update from Huawei. I mean, that pairing issue arrived just when the 4.27 update was released, and not before. But anyway, I'll try to check the phone side.

  • Well regarding the point "It's the phones fault" I can only agree partially

I bought my fenix 5x plus for more than 700€ october 2018 - and - I must say it worked perfectly - even with my Huawei P20 Pro!
I had zero issues .. even when Huawei provided security patches and I think one major OS upgrade.
I never experienced issues after thoes updates.

And I have no issues with any other Bluetooh device either - all of them (Car, Headset, Smartlock *all* of them) Manage to (re-) connect them everytime when they are required to.

And my watch just failed since a few updates of the watch firmware / connect app.

So - I dont buy "it's the phones fault" - it did work - and if it's implemented correctly it will work.

Luckily for me - update to 4.27 really fixed my connection issues - the watch was disconnected (and I didn't mind anymore) and after update to v4.27 it recoonnected by itself :-D

  • Well I agree.

Yesterday I updated Connect app and for now it seems working smoothly - as it usually does before the latest updates

Many thanks for the tip. I haven't taken this option in account. I've reset the bluetooth environment of my P20: reset caché, clear data, uninstall Garmin Connect and checked the energy setup of the Garmin Connect.

Since yesterday in the afternoon, it seems it still working fine. Althought I'm using the v4.22. I don't date to use the latest. If it works with the 22, it worth for me.
