Connection issues Fenix 5x and Huawei mate 20 pro

Hello,

I have the fenix 5x, my phone is Huawei Mate 20 pro running emui 9.1. 0

I put my phone on airplane mode before I go to bed. The watch doesn't reconnect to the phone next morning when the Bluetooth on the phone is reactivated. I have to remove the device from the garmin connect app and add / pair it again to get it to connect again - this is very inconvenient.

I Have edited the battery settings, manage connections and all that, and still doesn't reconnect automaticaly after Bluetooth is back enabled on my phone. I've also followed every single Bluetooth connection issue guide from garmin with no luck.

Has anyone had the same issue?

Thanks in advance for your help

  • Hey hey,

I am having exactly the same setup with the very same behavior. Is there any chance to get a fix for this issue?

    Thanks!

  • Hi there, just after trying so many things, the last thing I did is removing an app called NOVA Launcher, and now the watch automatically connects to the phone after phone comes out of airplane mode. Don't quote me on the following as my knowledge is very limited on this space: it may be because NOVA launcher sits on top of the original launcher blocking or stopping some background processes - again, I'm not a technical person, but this is what makes sense to me (I may be totally wrong). So try checking what apps may be stopping other background services and you may get some luck in resolving this issue. Best of lucks. Grin

  • Unfortunately I don't have any custom launcher installed, therefore I'm still experiencing the same issue but thanks for sharing!

I am experiencing the same issues. Garmin has not yet been able to provide sufficient guidance for me to resolve the issue. I've tried the same procedures as you mention. In talks with them for the past week.

  • Same here.

Does it happen from the beginning of is it just something you experienced in the last few weeks?

    Just this last few weeks.

Just got an email from garmin that version 4.27.1. Will be rolling out shortly that may help with the issue
