Sync problems to Strava

Hi for the last few runs I have done my garmin forerunner 45 has only synced half the run to strava which is very frustrating. So like today i ran 11k & it only showed as 4k on strava????

The watch does not sync to Strava. It syncs to Garmin Connect, and Garmin Connect then syncs with Strava. So the question is, whether it was really your watch that did not sync the activities to GC, or whether it is the GC-Strava connection that does not work.

In the first case, you will need to troubleshoot the watch syncing. In the second case, try disconnecting and reconnecting Strava in GC.

Thank you for your reply, you are correct i meant that my garmin connect although it says I've run 11k it will then sync to strava with only half the run??I will troubleshoot  the watch syncing as i have already disconnected strava in GC & still the same issue occurs.

OK, I see. You could try removing the run from Strava, and trying to sync again. If it does not help, try exporting the activity from GC into a FIT file, and importing it at Strava manually, to see whether it makes any difference. Perhaps is the data of the activity incomplete, or somehow broken - did you observe anything unusual in the details of that particular activity?

    • The only thing I noticed when I ran was that the watch was recording my run but it didn't find a GPS signal until I was half way when it bussed & told me GPS had connected??Would this make any difference as like i said it connects to GC with the correct distance but then uploads to strava with a different distance?

Yes, it is possible. It depends how the recorded map looks like. If the half of the run is missing there, then it is not surprising Strava sees only that half. GC might have used the average stride lenght to calculate the total distance, but that's just a guess - hard to tell it exactly without seeing all details.
