Skiing not logged correctly

Former Member

Hi,

I am using my garmin fenix 5s this week for skiing. I have 2 questions;

1. The calories counted for a day skiing are not correct. How is this counted? Eg. Only 300 calories fora full dayof 40+ kilometres

2. The skiing activity is not recognised for my active minutes. Where can I change this? Nu husband has the same type but it is recognised with his one.

Thank you very much

Kind regards Alyanne

  • The calories counted for a day skiing are not correct. How is this counted?

    The Calories are counted on the basis of your heart rate (HR), so if it was not elevated during a considerable time, or was not properly detected, then there won't be any high number of Calories awarded for that activity.

    The skiing activity is not recognised for my active minutes.

    Again, the same answer - it is based on the HR, and it has to be elevated for minimally 10 consequent minutes to be counted.

    Where can I change this?

    You cannot. Or well, you can infulence it, by editing the HR Zones in your Device » User Settings, but I would not recommend doing it

    Nu husband has the same type but it is recognised with his one.

    He probably had a higher heart rate
