Display name Garmin Connect - just a string if random characters

Hi,

Just got my first Garmin device yesterday, but when I enter my profile I just get a string of random characters (see picture below for part of that string). I tried to edit my profile and write my name I'm the Garmin connect app multiple times, but nothing changes. How do I get the app to show my name in my profile and not just the random string?

Thanks for all help I can get.

What's your language setting? Try switching to US English and see if that helps.

I tried entering diverse Unicode characters into my username, including the character 446c (䑬), and it is displayed all right, so international characters may be used without limitations (as long as your phone is able displaying them). I suspect that you did not edit the name properly. If it does not work on your phone, try changing the name in your user profile on GC Web. Do not forget to hit the button SAVE at the bottom of the page! After changing the name on GC web, sync the app, and the new name will appear on the phone too.
