Version 4.27 now in the Google Play Store

Version 4.27 has now been released in the Google Play Store

I'm not sure what they have fix or improved yet.

  • After update this app I have a several issues:

    1) When I woke up and update to this version, my Fenix 5 can't connect with app on android Huawei P30 Pro. I have to delete F5 from the app and pair it again and after that now is everyting ok.

    2) I noticed that approx. midnight my Fenix 5 stop monitor my pulse and sleep and after re-pair it show the sleep but without REM phase.

    Someone has similar issues?

  • I do have v4.27, without connection problems, and the sleep is all right (incl. REM), too.

If your watch stopped monitoring your pulse, then it does not seem to be in any relation to Garmin Connect, since the watch does not need any connection to GC for detecting and recording the HR. And if there is no HR data, there canot be any REM detection either - so that problem does not seem to be related to the GC update.

And as for the loss of connection after the update - I am afraid there is a general issue with Huawei phones. Unfortunately they add plenty of non-standart feature to their OS, and also use a very aggresive battery optimizing. That's preventing may apps to work reliably. So if you previously managed to tweak the system parameters to make it work with the old version of GC, Huawei might have reinitialized for example the battery optimizing features after the update again. You better check them out and fix. Have a look for example at the following tips, but there are many more on the forum, and also on Garmin Support:

My phone loaded this version last night.  Now I am being constantly being asked to allow notifications and music controls.  This is very annoying since I have never used those features before.

Please advise how I can make this stop.

Cannot see anything like that. Can you post a screenshot of that warning?

  • I did all that you add about problems with Huawei.

  • I did all that you add about problems with Huawei.

OK, anyway, you already fixed the phone connection, and the loss of HR during the night is unrelated - it does not seem to be related to Garmin Connect, and hence no relation to the phone either. If there is no HR data for the night on the watch, GC cannot invent it, and hence cannot make the sleep analysis.

I found that I had to go through the settings and reset them back to disable the notification feature.  It would appear that the settings were not preserved when the new version was loaded.

  • After restart the Fenix, HR during night and sleep monitor appears in Connect app.

    The same

  • I received this app version update yesterday and have the same issue with the Bluetooth connection (vivoactive 3, Moto E2). After re-paring I was able to sync one time. Later I wasn't able to connect/sync via Bluetooth anymore and used the PC program with an USB cable instead.

Rebooting watch and phone doesn't seem to help with this issue. Turning Bluetooth off and on, on both devices doesn't help either. I haven't tried reinstalling the app yet...

    Very annoying.
