Duplicate old activity

Hi, is there a way how to duplicate old activity with all of its data?

background: I'm playing ice hockey and it is not comfortable to wear my watch during matches. I had them couple of times and I found out that data from games are more or less the same. So idea is to take one of recorded game activity and copy it every time I play. Of course I can create manual activitty but then it is not included in some statistics like body battery or week activity minutes...

  • Body battery, training effect, VO₂, and many other values are being calculated directly on the watch, so duplicating the activity in Garmin Connect will not have any effect on them anaway. It sounds like a rather dumb idea, because it is going completely against the purpose and against the sense of the fitness tracking, but if you really want to do it, you can export the activity and then import back. Either you export it in the TCX format, edit the date and other data in text editor, and import, or you export it in the "Original" file format (FIT), edit the date of the original activity in GC, and import the file back.

You should perhaps consider wearing a HRM belt instead, but unless you play just some friendly version of ice hockey without hits, it probably won't be easy either.

  • I already thought about exporting file, editing date and importing back. For activity data itself it works fine, activity appears at new date and time with all of its data but it's stil not counting into week activity minutes and body battery calculation. Probably because - as you said - these data are computed directly in the watch. That is quite sad, Body battery seems to be quite interesting feature but when you miss even one activity values are devaluated

about HRM belt it as you said but still better than wearing watches I believe. But how would it work if I wear HRM belt without watches? Is there any belt wiith some internal memory so it is able to upload data from activity afterwards? I thought HRM belt is good for having more acurate heart rate data but watches are still needed for activity tracking

You have multiple options - besides a HRM belt with an internal memory, you can also keep the watch under your helmet, in your trunks, or wherewere else you find it safe and comfortable enough. Some HRM belts may perhaps be able to maintain the connection to your watch even if it stays on the bench, though I have certain doubts about it.
