Music Control widget on Garmin Instinct not working

Today is my first day with my Garmin Instinct. Watch works fine thus far. I have been able to successfully customize it. One slight problem. For some reason my music control widget does not seem to work at all. I start playing music on my phone and nothing happens. Everything else is synced up and works besides that. I have a Samsung Galaxy s7. Not sure if its a phone issue or a watch issue.

Never used it, but I know the music control does not work with all players, and Samsung may have some proprietary player installed. However, Instinct will attempy to control the last used player, so if you start the native Android player, it should work

I just closed all apps on my phone. Went to the music controller and tried to use it and it pulls up my web browser on my phone. I might have to contact Garmin support...

OK, I have just tried it with my Instinct and my Samsung phone - I opened the Google Player (on my Samsung it has an orange triangle icon and is called "Play Music"), then I selected an album, and started it from the watch. Music plays all right. I can also stop it, and browse through the album (I did not search much more for the moment).
