no sleep-widget on watches

Why does Garmin doesn't develop a sleep-widget for their watches? Virtually every other developer has a sleep widget for their watches. I have here even a Galaxy Fit e, which is just about 30 dollar, and it does has a sleep-widgte too. That shouldn't be too difficult for Garmin.

  • Because sleep is not on the clock. Unfortunately.

  • Is this not the same with other sport-/smart watches, that they just sync with the app and show the different sleep phases and time on the watch?

  • Why does Garmin doesn't develop a sleep-widget for their watches?

Probably because there are plenty of sleep widgets from 3rd party developpers on the ConnectIQ store:

    https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/search?q=sleep

That will work for all recent models supporting the ConnectIQ technology. I do not think that Garmin would continue developping new interfaces for old models, so if the sleep widget is really important to you, and you have just an old watch without the ConnectIQ support, it would be a good reason for getting a new watch.

  • I have a Vivoactive 4, so i could download these widgets, but because of the battery problem with the Vivoactive 4, I would prefer an official widget from Garmin. A sleep widget should be just standard for a sportwatch.

  • A sleep widget should be just standard for a sportwatch

Perhaps it should, but I would not hold my breath waiting for it. BTW, do you have some reliable information that the sleep widget would drain your battery noticeably faster?

  • I tried again the sleep as android app once again, and the battery dropped from 90 to 56 in just 6 hours. I can only hope Garmin will develop soon a sleep widget, otherwise I have to sell this watch.

  • I tried again the sleep as android app

I am confused, I thought you were speaking about a widget for the watch, not for Android. So are you looking for a sleep widget on the watch, or on your Android phone? And which widget exactly is draining your battery? Battery of the watch, or  battery of the phone?

  • There is an IQ app for the watch that is called "Sleep as Android".

All IQ apps are a joke compared to a well designed widget regarding sleep by Garmin  just look at Polar Ignit, it shows you all the sleep stats you need at an instant....

Aleast some kind of widget concerning amount of sleep, and sleep stages should be a feature on every Garmin wearable, if they are to stay up to the competition.

I recently ordered a polar ignite for the sleep metrics and the integrated wellness information and the USEFUL animations, timed to an actual workout...

Dear god Garmin, atleast try using one of your yoga rotines in tandem with the animations on the watch.... just once before you start selling your product...

    Hint hint: it is unintelligible
