treadmill recording

I have a vivoactive 3 and when running on the treadmill it records the time but not the distance this is the same on the indoor bike am I doing something wrong on the watch

  • The watch does not know the distance you did, you have to enter it manually.

  • If you calibrate your VA3 to the treadmill you should get a distance estimate that's close. To calibrate, you need to do at least 1 mile on the treadmill using the treadmill activity. Then stop the activity, press the three dots in the red section of the display, choose calibrate, enter the distance covered and save it.

For an indoor bike, the bike would have to have a cadence / distance sensor to feed data to the watch. My indoor bike doesn't have that so I edit the activity results when I'm done.

    I have the same problem.
how can i run 1 mile on the treadmill when my garmin venu don't show me any miles?
I was 2h on the treadmill and couldn't calibrater anything, it asked me just if I want to save it nothing more.

  • how can i run 1 mile on the treadmill when my garmin venu don't show me any miles?

Have a look at the document How Does the Treadmill Calibration Feature Work on My Garmin Watch? If calibration is not available for your watch model, simply edit the Activity and enter the distance shown by your treadmill there, just as written in my previous post.

  • On my VA3, when I finish a treadmill activity of more than 1 mile, there should be 2 choices: Save in Green or 3 dots in Red. Those 3 dots lead to the choice to calibrate or discard the activity. Are you saying the 3 dots don't appear on a Venu?
