Basic activity tracking not recorded

My basic tracking ie steps, sleep etc just stopped out of the blue. I have had my device for almost 2 years now and it worked perfectly until Tue - it recorded my first 67 steps and since then it says no data to record. However, if I set a specific activity like running, walking etc the data is available in garmin connect app. Anybody struggling with the same problem?
