Empty pace graph on Connect android app, web site shows ok

I imported few activities from SuuntoApp to Garmin connect, export as fit file from Suunto, import to Garmin Connect web. Everything went well and the imported activities looks ok in Connect web. But Android app displays just empty pace graph if I click the pace on acitivtys "main" page. On graphs page there is no pace graph at all.

What is wrong with this activity, why Android app is unable to display pace graph? I have same issue with multiple activity, but not all.

One example activity: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/4414694142?share_unique_id=2

  • If GC web shows the graphs all right, I would try forcing to stop the GC Mobile app and then restarting it. If it does not help, perhaps going to Android settings » Apps » Connect » Storage » Clear Cache and/or Clear Data might help

PS: not sure whether the option Clear Data does not remove your settings, forcing you so to reenter them. Clearing Cache should not have such effect

  • Thanks, tried that (clear cache & login again to app etc) but no luck.

Something strange there is with the pace, as the web app also shows the scale weirdly starting from 0.

  • not sure whether the option Clear Data does not remove your settings, forcing you so to reenter them.

It does, also reset permissions and reconnect Bluetooth.

Do you mean at every activity, or just at those imported from Suunto?

Perhaps you could try exporting an already imported activity from GC Web in the native format (FIT), and then reimporting it from this file, just to see whether it then does not show up on GC Mobile including the pace.

  • This issue is only in some of the activities I imported from Suunto. So majority of the imported activities works ok, but there are quite a lot of activities with this issue as I try to migrate everything to Garmin. I imported all activities from Suunto as FIT file, so the format should be same what Garmin is using?

    I tried the re-import:
    - Export activity from GC web - top right Export original
    - Delete the activity from GC web
    - Check from mobile app the deleted activity has gone
    - Import previously exported activity from GC web, everything looks good in web
    - Refresh mobile app, activity is visible but does not show pace graph (has same issue).

So re-importing did not help Confused

  • Could you post a screenshot from the Android app for the same activity of your link in the first post? (If you are not familiar with that function, you can make phone screenshots by pressing simulatneously the power and the volume-down buttons)

If you had the possibility to install GC Android on another phone, it may be worth of seeing whether it would have the same outcome. If it worked, then removing and reinstalling the app on your phone could help too.

  • This is what I get when I click the pace field in activity's main page.

When checking activity's graphs page, there is no pace graph at all.

This is from the activity https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/4414694142?share_unique_id=2 (same as in first post).

Im using OnePlus 6 device.I tried to install GC to my old phone (Nexus 5), the exactly same issue is visible there.

  • Hm, really weird, indeed. Perhaps you could try parsing the FIT file through the Section Remover (without removing any section) at https://www.fitfiletools.com/#/top, or through the Fit Repair Tool at http://garmin.kiesewetter.nl/ and importing it again. It could be that there is a slight incompatibility in the file format that crashes the GC Mobile app, while GC Web is capable of reading it despite the difference.
