How to turn new Hydration option off and how to turn off "Bluetooth off" message.

Hi there.  I am running the latest version of Garmin Connect on my Android phone.  I used the new Hydration feature for two months and found that I am getting plenty of fluids.  I would now like to turn that feature off but cannot find out how in the HELP text.  Someone on these forums suggested I "slide" the feature away but it does not slide.  Running Galaxy S10+ if that matters.

I would also like to remove the red nag message that says "Bluetooth Off" every time I load the app.  Bluetooth must stay off at my organization for security purposes.  Nag message takes up a lot of space I could use.

Many thanks,

Keith

  • It is unnecessary to repost the same question again. I answered it in the original thread. Simply Edit your Day and disable the Hydration there. As for suppressing connection notifications, go to Android settings >> Apps >> Connect >> Notifications and disable the Device Connectivity notification option.

  • Was hoping for some help with the "Bluetooth off" message and thought I would pair them up.  I did take your advice but I already have "Show Notifications off"  I actually have them "Blocked".  What else could I try?

  • .. err, I misread your demand about the BT connectivity. My advice will only suppress notifying you on the watch about a lost BT connection, it won't suppress the red message at the top of the GC screen. You can't suppress that, in the same way as you can't suppress the error message about a lost Internet connection.

  • Okay, thank you very much. Very quick response time.

  • Hi. I have an Instinct 2 watch and an iPhone. I added hydration widget and reminders to drink water, then realized it was really annoying. Now I cannot turn them off, as the hydration widget disappeared from the watch. On the ConnectIQ app, it shows hydration tracker as “not installed” but when I try to reinstall it, it won’t do it. It says ”installing” for a minute then the button goes back to “install”. Without the widget, there is no way that I know of to disable the reminders. It is already removed from the “edit my day” area but still reminds me every 2 hours. Also, it doesn’t matter if I push dismiss or launch when the reminder comes up because both cause it to just go away anyways. Garmin tech support was no help. Thanks for any help.

  • What have you tried? Restart the watch? Sync with Garmin Express on a computer?

  • Thanks for your reply. I just powered off the watch and turned it back on. After doing this, the hydration widget was back to “installed” in the ConnectIQ app and I was able to go into settings and turn reminders to “off”. I’m hopeful this worked. I will see in about 2 hours. If you don’t hear back from me, you can assume it worked. Happy New Year!
