Changing Swim Records

I have a Fenix 5s and I use Connect on Android Mobile. I generally do 1500 metre lap swims and on my watch and in Connect it shows my personal record for 1500 to be 37:15 on 4/3/19, but I beat this record today at 36:21 and today's time has not been recorded as my personal best for 1500. Why? And how can I rectify this?

Did your watch show you a new personal record? Check the records on the watch.

A new record has to be confirmed in Garmin Connect.

No, my watch didn't say I had made a record. But I can assure it should have recognised it as a record.

Well, then it's an issue with your watch and not Garmin Connect. What is the record for that distance that your watch shows?

The watch shows a time back in March as being the record when it is about 50 seconds slower.

Ok, so both Garmin Connect and your watch show your previous record. This means that for some reason the watch failed to recognize the new record. Can you post a link to the activity?

You could set it manually in GC (maybe only web). Go to the activity, click the options icon and select "use as personal record" ... It should then ask you for which pr to use it.
