I've read lots and lots of threads relating to Garmin Livetrack but have not found a thread that relates to an issue I found yesterday.
I own a Garmin GPS64s. It connects perfectly via Bluetooth to my Samsung Galaxy S7. I have successfully used Livetrack on several occasions until yesterday.
Yesterday I had to change the batteries in my Garmin. Naiively I didn't stop livetrack but simply put new batteries in and turned it back on. It didn't link up immediately but on the second attempt it did. When I later saw the livetrack data, I saw that everything had worked perfectly until the battery change but afterwards, whilst it still tracked me, all data had disappeared. The mileage wasn't recorded and on the track itself the mile notifications had stopped.
I do many ultra distance events where a battery change on my Garmin is common. Should I be able to simply change batteries, reconnect and expect the livetrack to recommence with all previously saved data? I did not reset the track in the Garmin device so would have thought so myself.
If not, am I expected to stop the live track, change batteries, reconnect and start again? If so, this means my total live track distance won't reflect the ultra miles I'm doing.
To cap it all off, the livetrack also said that my activity had not been completed despite me having saved the track in my Garmin and ended livetrack properly at the conclusion of the event.
