How do you reset Garmin connect

The steps value from a previous device will not erase. It will record new data but the total steps amount will not rest for the next day.

Which step value are you looking to reset? The daily goal? That won't reset even if you set GCM back to factory state. You can set new goal using the GCM app or the GC web client.
