Garmin connect, not able to add Forerunner 645 to device.

On the watch, I go to the settings-> Phone-> Pair phone menu and it hangs on the message 'Download Garmin Conenct mobile to complete setup'. 

On the Garmin connect app, it hangs on the 'Connecting your Forerunner 645 Music' screen with the progress bar stuck at about 10%.     I've read elsewhere I need a pairing code.  Where can I go to find this, and enter this?

The watch had been previously paired with my phone, however the blue tooth connection was not working, so after rebooting both devices, I followed advice to remove the watch as a device and then to re-add it.   Now I am not able to re-add it. 

Any suggestions?

    I'm having the same issue here with a refurbished model (replaced by Garmin after the case devices initially paired and synced, but I performed a hard reset of the FR645 due to the battery lasting less than a day and no other solutions to that worked. Since the reset, not pairing. Followed all suggestions here, including removing the Garmin connection in the phones Bluetooth setting, but still, nothing. It's about to hit the wall at velocity. Other suggestions?
