Training status and training effect from Vivoactive 3

Sometime I measure my cycling and other activities with my Vivoactive 3 but they never appear in the training status and training effect statistics. I am also using an Edge 530 and my activities from there appears as I should.

I hope this is a bug and it will be fixed soon. If it is by design then I'm very disappointed. The only reason I replaced my Samsung training watch with the Vivoactive was that I would get statitics on all activities in one place.

  • The Vivoactive 3 does not provide training status nor training effect. This is by design, as it is a feature reserved for more advanced devices.

  • This doesn't seem to make sense. What feature is required, which the vivoactive 3 doesn't have, to provide the training status. From what I can see, the information provided by the training status is software driven and doesn't need something special, to be calculated? If you could please explain what I'm not understanding? To me it feels like the only reason the vivoactive 3 doesn't have the training status feature is because of its price, not because it is unable to provide the information.

And this is exactly what I meant.

  • Hi Garmin,
Since this is a software feature, and you confirm that it would be possible to implement it on the garmin Vivoactive 3, would it be possible to create a garmin IQ app for this feature? Users would be able to buy this feature/software upgrade from Garmin.
