Is there a "pregnancy" setting on the Garmin connect app? Just wondering since it wants to track my menstrual cycle now...

The problem is that even when setting it up manually (switching off the menstruation cycle) is that the app still doesn’t recognize the pregnancy. If you are pregnant you will understand. As stated above by my fellow mother athletes, pregnancy takes a huge toll on the body and it is extremely upsetting for an app/watch to track the negative symptoms of pregnancy without recognizing the hard work that we are all doing.

Well, a pregnancy is not just a pause in the menstrual cycle (again to your point, this isn’t just black and white data) and has different training implications so that’s why it’s *NOT IDEAL* as so many other pregnant athletes have noted within this thread. Thank you for the offer but a “big button pregnancy” is not what anyone is looking for, just a way to alter the state of your cycle to pregnant so it would log weeks pregnant and some simple data points for people to check in with...and all the other reasons everyone states above. The thing being able to predict ovulation and track cycles is a more complicated thing so this in theory should be a relatively simple addition/update.

  •  and  - thank you for the detailed desription of your wishes. Yes, indeed, the watch is not capable to give you a detailed analysis and tracking of your pregnancy, but it was also not designed for, and in similar way it also does not track deseases, injury, hiking or travelling with heavy luggages, physical work, intelectual and mental work, medications, addicition, and many other conditions. Well, to certain extend it does, including at pregancy - as long as the additional effort results in a changed HR, it influences for example the calories calculation.

If you'd like to see more features for pregnant women on the watch, I recommend describing the desired funcioniality well, and suggesting it to Garmin at https://www.garmin.com/forms/ideas/. However, since Garmin does not even manage to fix existing bugs, and add features demanded by the general public, it is questionable whether they find a free schedule for adding new features for a narrower group of users. From this point of view, it would be better asking the pregnancy tracking on the Developer forum and have some of the developpers creating it for you using the Connect IQ technology. Better yet would be finding a fellow pregnant woman capable of coding and creating the plugin - it is always the best, when the development is done by someone directly involved.

Anyway, although your notes about pregnancy, and the tips for improvements are certainly interesting, they are a bit off-topic here. The thread was opened with the demand how to stop the menstrual cycle monitoring:

... and many other participants of the thread were apparently also not aware that they can stop the monitoring any time. Hence my answer pointing to the already available option was definitely not misplaced, and I believe repeating it here each time someone new comes in, and complains about menstrual monitoring, without reading the previous answers, and without seeing the available solution, still makes sense.

It tells you nothing about pregnancy. It appears they only add the word "pregnancy" so that it pops up on the FAQ when searching. The copy only pertains to the menstrual cycle feature.

Come on Garmin - be a leader and break ground on this feature. Pregnancy shouldn't stop a woman's activity and it's important that our apps and devices support this. I unfortunately expected this level of customization from a$500 watch.

Thanks and I hope you are doing well :)
Is there a page where we can vote for your suggestion or how does that work?
