Spouse was able to. I get an error message. 'Error has Occured. We can not give permissions requested.' Then there is a login. When I login, it doesn't accept my password. I updated my password and it still doesn't work

Maybe you've done this already, but just to confirm, can you check your login on the garmin connect web site? Should be the same user name and password.
I would try disconnecting Lose It! from the garmin side at https://connect.garmin.com/modern/settings/accountInformation, then reconnect on the Lose It! side. Also, you will need a premium Lose It! account for this to work.

I don't have a Lose It! premium account so can't really dig much deeper. Although, typically disconnecting/reconnecting fixes most linked applications with Garmin. You might want to ask the same question on the Lose It! forum.
