Vivosmart 4 how to leave Heart rate monitor on continuously while jogging

Hello everyone!

I like to glance at my Garmin Vivosmart 4 while i am jogging so i can see, in real time, my heart rate. I turn it on, but it only stays visible for about 6 seconds before the screen times out.

Is there a way, you know about, to leave the heart rate display on continuously?? I know it drains the battery, but i'd like to do this while i'm jogging.

Any thoughts are appreciated. Thank you

  • Dang, four years and no reply. "I have this same question". It's actually worse than Ronin would make it sound, as the first five seconds of pulse rate are not accurate -- an average over some time period, maybe? -- and the current pulse rate only comes into view at about the five second mark. So five seconds of the wrong answer followed by approximately one second of the correct answer. Then the screen goes blank. Not. Very. Useful.

  • first five seconds of pulse rate are not accurate

During an activity, the HRM is on continuously, even if you're not seeing it displayed. So what you really want (I think) is that the heart rate is displayed continuously, in spite of the watch trying to save battery.

Maybe because this is not the correct forum for the vivosmart 4. Should be here - vivosmart 4 - Health & Wellness - Garmin Forums

  • Correct, what I want is a continuous display of heart rate between the time I start an activity and the time I finish that activity. For example: turn on heart rate display, walk on treadmill for 30 minutes, glancing down to see my instantaneous heart rate displayed on my wrist at any moment, then turn off the heart rate display.
