4.22.1 till 4.23.1 didn't solve the notification problem

after the 4.22.1 update i received following message when opening Connect:

short translation:

Access required
Android notifications ended unexpectedly. To restore the notifications for the Garmin device, you need to restart the phone

After restart i haven't this message, but notifications didn't work!

Forerunner 945 and Edge 830 on the latest public Firmware

thx, thats not the way to experiment with apk's, hope Garmin fix it soon, anyway it's not so important to not survive, but Garmin have to know it!

It is less important which device/firmware. Your smarfone brand & android version is what counts more.

in this case i think all, since 4.22 it won't work for all, or?

anyway Oneplus 6 with latest Android on it!

That is the point. It does not work for some garmin device & smartphone combinations but it works for other smartphones (works well on my SG7Edge).

You may try to clear the app's data cache (labels in the steps below are my translation of localized version on my device, it may be different but you should not be lost).

1. Go to application list in your settings. It is Settings -> Applications usually.

2. Locate & tap on "Connect", at least it is how GCM presents itself on the apps list on my device.

3. Press "Force close" button. It is a button right to "uninstall" button.

4. Once closed, go to "default memory" and clear cache by pressing "Clear memory" (right-side button). Do not use left side button as it will wipe all the data.

5. Go back and check other application settings, Notifications and Permissions.

6. Go back to applications (out of the settings, just a regualr apps list). Start GCM (to have it running, ).

Clutching at straws: synchronize watch using Garmin Express for Windows, something in watch might be breaking communication, if so it might got updated during sync; unlikely but ...

already done too, i charge every day to 100% on Computer and check, if updates available that don't seen with Android App

Clutching at straws 2 (final I am affraid):

If your phone supported SD card and you had one, please turn off the phone, remove it and check it when plugged into your computer directly (with some sort of adapter, of course). Check it with your favourite tool including check for bad sectors.
SD cards tend to degradate with time, the symptoms seems unrelated sometimes.

Issue also valid on Mi 9.

Android 9, MIUI 10.2.28.0. All notifications, except calls are not working.

Hope the installation package is compatible with your device (do not forget do disable automatic updates in google play).
