Not able to connect Forerunner 225 after Garmin Connect app update

Hello,

I have been using my Garmin Forerunner 225 for two years now and I always was able to sync the watch data to the Garmin Connect app on my Honor 6x phone.

Since the latest Garmin Connect update of a few days ago now I'm not able to connect and sync my Forerunner to the Connect app anymore.

That's what I see:

  • When I open the Connect app no watch is configured to be synced and the watch circle is missing in the top of the app, like in the image below. This is strange, as I always was able to sync the watch when bluetooth is on (and it is)

  • If I try to re-link the watch I get a succeeded connection, but again no watch is shown in the main app screen

Does anybody have a similar problem, even with other devices?

Thank you

Giulio

The last patch make this problem.. you to uninstall garmin connect on your phone and install the version 4.21.1 .. works for me and other users

  • Hi MarceloBorg, thanks for your reply. How can I downgrade the Connect version? Where do I find the older versions?

  • Ok, done. I browsed the older version of the apk on apkmirror.com. Thank you!

  • I had a similar problem with my Forerunner 220 where the updated app no longer recognised my device. Thanks to MarceloBorg for the old version of the app suggestion. That worked, thank you.
Garmin should note that it seems these devices are no longer usable with the updated version of Garmin Connect.

I chatted with someone from garmin just now.  Initially, they said there were no reported issues.  Then they noticed there was an outstanding issue with the 220.  No ETA on the fix but I was added to the list for communication upon a fix.  I have 4.21.1 installed and turned off the auto-update for now.  This is so bad that I want to switch from garmin.  Good luck.
