How do I get my Garmin Connect mobile app to use the far batter open street map?

I am happy with the app, but the map shows too few paths and I would like to change to Open Street Map as on the web version in Windows. How is that done?

I believe that the answer is, unfortunately, to wait for Garmin to add this as a feature to the mobile platform.
