an error has occured when loading gpx

When trying to load in gpx files to garmin connext all goes while until I have to click OK - and it then says; an error has occured while loading, please try again later.

I am loading gpx saved in the download folder of an android phone.

I have the same issue. It opens a gpx but can't save it as a route on the app. Error message comes up
