Mobile app does not show segment time for activity

I have a 4.21 app on Android 9. When I record an activity I can see related segments, but my time on the segment from this activity is not displayed, instead, I can only see the leaderboard. On the web application times are correctly displayed.

  • I can't see my segment times in the app either! Are we the only ones? Surely not, but I it took me an hour of searching to find your question about it. So either others don't have the problem, or they're not interested in it. For me, it's the number one thing I want to see when I look at my app after an activity. Very disappointed.

  • Your track must match the segment pretty close, to be shown. It happens that the segment is not recognized if there are deviations from  the recorded segment due to GPS errors or drift. The tolerance seems to be around 20-30m, so if the deviations are bigger at some points, the segment won't be matched.

  • Thanks, but when I click on "View Segments", the segments that I have ridden appear in the list. So, recognising the segment is not the problem. But there are no times shown for the segments anywhere in the app (apart from showing the best time I ever did). But I want to know the time that I did today. I have to go and log in to the website to see them. Quite frustrating.

  • OK, so when the segment is recognized, you can see your best time on the segment on the right upper part under Me. And when you want to see how you ranked today, click the View Full Leaderboard line, and change the filter (up right) to see only your own results. Use the horizontal view, and swipe the table to the extreme right to see the dates of individual runs.

  • Thanks so much for your help trux, but I also knew about that. Unfortunately that still doesn't tell me my time for today's segment. It just lists all my times for that segment in order from fastest to slowest. When I click on horizontal view, I have to scroll through hundreds of results to find today's date. I gotta admit I'm stunned that it's not the simplest thing in the world just to see how fast I rode my segments today. I would have thought that is what at least 90% of riders would want to see when they click on their activity. I guess not. If you have any other ideas to help me see today's segment times in the app, please let me know.

  • Personally, I use practically only the web interface. The phone app is not bad for some basic stuff like looking at the live data (HR / Steps), but that's about all I use it for. Anything else is much better on GC Web.

I can only recommend suggesting the change to Garmin at https://www.garmin.com/forms/ideas/

  • Thanks I've submitted a suggestion.
