Smart Notifications Get Enabled After Garmin Connect App Update

Really annoying that smart notifications get enabled after updating Garmin Connect Mobile app on my Android (Samsung Galaxy S9). Garmin Connect app should remember previous smart notification settings after updating the app.

Worst case: You plug your phone to charger before getting to sleep. Android auto-updates update Garmin Connect mobile app. You wake up in the middle of the night when getting smart notifications from all your apps.

    I have seen other people mention this behavior, but I have not seen it with my Garmin FR645 and my Google Pixel 3 running Android 9 (P) (or my previous Vivosmart 3 and Nexus 5X). Perhaps there is an interaction issue with the notification system on the Galaxy S9 and Garmin Connect.

    Happens on the Pixel 3 XL and Fenix 5X for me.

    Quite random as it happens sometimes and not others. Goes to show it's just bad code
