Change Auto Lap function from miles to kms

How do you change the Auto Lap distances from miles to kilometres on a Vivosport? Everytime I run it's giving me data for split times in miles (every 1.61kms) but I want it to auto lap at 1km so I have accurate split times?

  • I’ve had various devices from them for years now and they are never intuitive. Just been bought the Fenix 6 and have had no end of problems from it not counting swimming laps properly to this units issue. Had to go on a forum to figure out how to change it from m to km and now my lap counter is still in miles. Can’t wait for Apple to catch up and make this company defunct

Well, I do not know what model of watch you have, but for my Garmin Instinct, reading the manual worked just fine.

First of all I've set up the units in watch menu » Settings » System » Units and then adjusted the Auto Lap for the respective activity type: select the activity » long press the Menu button » activity Settings » Auto Lap

    love it

Yes, I know, nobody reads them. Same for me, usually. But even if you don't read them either, it is not that difficult to google the information, or even finding the options directly on the watch.

Hi trux. Dont mean to be rude but do you think there would be all these people with the same issue and going to the length of posting in forums if they hadn't read the manual or done a quick Google search already!?!? There is clearly a common problem here.

Hi folks. I was having the exact issue on my 245 and it's fixed by going to the watch, go to run activity the timer screen. Long press the UP button. Then go to Run Setting and then look for auto lap then adjust lap distance to 1.00km. It works for me. No more 1.6km...

  • I just got a Vivoactive 4 today and found out how to do this now from the online owner manual on the Garmin website. Hold B, select settings, then select activities and apps. Go into the specific activity (e.g. run/walk) and select auto lap and you can adjust the distance per lap. So if you want it in km, key in 01:00 and it'll calculate your activity in km.

  • Clare has it... Works on my non touch screen fenix and presumably forerunner as well.

To explain it for watches without touchscreen.

    1. Press top right buttom as though youre about to start a run

    2. Press middle left button for options

    3. Run settings

    4. Auto lap change from 1.6km to 1.0km

    Thanks clare
