How does Garmin Connect calculate "Respiration Rate"?

How does Garmin connect calculate "Respiration Rate" from a cycling activity? I'm using an Garmin Edge 530, Wahoo HRM, and dual vector 3 power meter.

Technically it's not Garmin Connect that does the calculation. It's done on the Edge 530. Garmin Connect only displays data from your Edge 530.

Technically, both the Watch and Connect are Gamin.

Nonetheless, it's NOT Garmin Connect that does the respiration rate calculation. Not sure what your point is.
