Connectivity problem

I have a Garmin forunner 245 and the watch is connected with Bluetooth every time I open the connect app, but as soon as I close the app the connection is lost, so I cannot have any smartwatch notifications etc

I have a similar problem with my Vivoactive HR. Ever since the may update, the app loses connection every few minutes, so I keep missing notifications.

What phone have you got? I've got an Hauwei/Honor, and I have to change the app settings to stop it automatically managing the battery usage

I have a BQ Aquaris V. I have disabled automatic battery management for the Connect app since I installed it.
