I've had an update to Connect on my Android overnight and now it's unusable. As soon as I open it it shuts down again. Doesn't stay open long enough to connect with my device, so it's also making that unusable.

Clearing the data and cache seems to have resolved this.

Nicer still, and simply more respectful of my time and me as a customer would be to not release software that breaks what is already working well. I do *not* appreciate having to set up my watch again, which you are forcing me to do by deleting, re-downloading the app from the Play Store.
Very bad customer relations.
So, when you say that you are working on it, does that mean that the permanent fix will correct things without us having to clear cache, data, and reinstall? I'd hate to perform the "workaround" if the fix will correct it without those actions. Can you verify?
I've deleted the cache, then the app itself, then re-downloaded Garmin Connect from the Play Store.
Then I re-set up Connect on my Samsung Galaxy S7 from scratch.
(Grrr for all the above).
But now I see my Connect on my phone *has no record of any of my previous activities*!!
Is there a way I can have it recall the list of activities it used to have before the app crash?
Thanks for any help.
+1 for this question. Neither I want to perform workaround nor I have time for doing it. Will the fix of the Connect app make it usable again without loosing any data?
I assume you are joking with the "clearing cache, deleting the app, and reinstalling" right ?
1. Why to clear the cache if you are going to delete the app ?
2. Not acceptable workaround, I don't want to setup again notifications etc. especially since the menu system in your app is confusing all the way
3. You do no apologize for releasing a RC (Release Candidate) version of your app and we have to take what you write seriously ?
Good Morning.
I use Garmin Connect and bought Forerunner35 about 3 months ago and now there is a problem with the app.
Yesterday the 30th, my application worked in the morning when I woke up. By the end of the day when I opened I had notice that I had upgraded that afternoon, when I opened the app, it would not open. There was simply a warning box saying "application stopped".
I cleaned the data but I'm not really sure how to clear the cache (??)
After several "trying again" it would not open. I did everything, I passed the anti-virus, cleaned app data in the settings, deliquesced the mobile phone (Samsung Galaxy J7) I called again, I asked for a password recovery (and I changed it to the one I had as recommended), I checked for recent updates (said that not despite having updated in the afternoon, when checking in the settings, in phone defentions says last update was on May 8, in Garmin Connect computer says 29 May) I uninstalled the app and reinstalled. After this it started to open but when you log in (email and password) it gives an error and does not open.
I already had Garmin Connect on the PC and it opens there but I have a test on Saturday and I need it to work on my phone.
At this point in my post, everything stays the same, does not let you log in: (an error occurred while trying to log in to Garmin Connect)
I need help solving the problem, please.
Since now, grateful,
