Never seen this Livetrack error

It just started happening recently.  Before that, Livetrack was working perfectly.  I have a good GPS signal and my watch is connected to my phone and doesn't lose connection.  I get the "Livetrack Started" message within seconds of starting my run and the email is sent to my contacts right away, but when you click on the link in the email, this is where it brings you.  My phone still says there is an active Livetrack session and if you go in to the Connect app the session is still active.  It doesn't happen every time but probably about 50%.  I have a brand new 945 which was working perfectly with Livetrack, and my previous 935 was also working perfectly, every time.  I don't know what changed.  Nothing on my end.

  • Same problem, since last update of Garmin App I've this problem again, yes "again" and "again", to be honest I'm little frustrated, because too many problems by LiveTrack, it's not funny anymore. LiveTrack still has problem last year, I remember from September or October 2018 and was fixed at March 2019, now the problem comes back "again". Sorry Garmin, what's the matter with you?

  • I do remember last year having all kinds of problems with LiveTrack after an app update and I went back to the last stable version and it worked fine.  I have since changed phones and Garmins and have not had any problems at all.  All of a sudden I am getting the message above when I click on the emailed link and I have never seen this error before.  It's not the same as what was happening before.  My app does generate the email but the link is sometimes broken and sometimes it is fine.

  • I'm still running 4.8 as I found it to be the most reliable version of late and the message pictured above has just starting appearing in the last week, so whatever the issue is it's not down to the latest update (at least in my case).

  • Yes, it's just been in the last week that I have seen this also, and this is not the same kind of error that I used to get.  This actually sends the emails, it's just the link that doesn't work.  So strange because I know the app hasn't updated.  I ran tonight and LiveTrack worked as it is supposed to, my husband was tracking me.  I have the most recently updated app version and a new 945.

  • I have the same message and just submitted a support ticket.

I'm in the same boat as Wuffi2015 ... seems like they just cant keep live track working and I'm very frustrated. My Edge 25 is getting really, really old, and I'd like to upgrade to a x20 or x30 device, but I'm reluctant to invest any more money when this feature is so important to me. (that and I can't believe they released their new devices with  micro USB instead of USB-C, but that's another issue).

It took them a couple of months to fix the issue last time ... here we go again into another summer with a nervous wife who can't verify I'm OK when my  "Hey I'm leaving for a quick ride" turns in to an ad-hoc half day, or when I decide to take the extra long way home from work. That was the killer feature to me, and it seems Garmin doesn't care about it.

  • Same problem here for me for at least 2 days now (I took a week off after a big race!).

  • The workaround last time was to revert to an older version so I tried the same thing this time.

The current version is 4.18.1 -  I headed over to APKMirror and  grabbed the next one down (4.18). that seems to work just fine in my "living room" test, I'll know for sure if I get a ride in tomorrow.

This workaround requires you to "Side load" the old version (uninstall the play store version first). I know lots of people aren't comfortable with that method and that's understandable. I'm fine with it for known sources like APK Mirror and their operating model.

  • I lived through all of the LiveTrack troubles too and I also need it badly so my husband can track me, but for me it has worked flawlessly for at least a year or more.  I run on a rail trail in the woods, often alone, and he needs to know exactly where I am and if I have stopped (meaning, I've fallen and rolled down the steep bank of the trail..lol).  I don't think this is a firmware update issue as the last update was May 8 and this particular error didn't start happening (for me, anyway) until last week.  I am comfortable with side loading an old version though.  I hope it doesn't come to that again because I am really liking all the new features.

  • Yep, first time I've had this screen as well yesterday, although livetrack hasn't working in months for me from various other issues

  • Noticed that since yesterday. I really hope it won't take 6 weeks to fix just like the last time LT had issues.
