Is there any update to this? My GCM is still popping up the Bluetooth Troubleshooting numerous times a day. Meanwhile, my F3 is able to sync just fine. Thank you.

Yes - This morning I finally got it connected... No idea what the issue was
  • This causes the phone to bring up a Bluetooth pairing prompt, asking for a PIN, but the Vivoactive HR doesn't change at all, including showing me a PIN.

I'm guessing this is a Nougat problem. Either way, it is annoying that I am no longer receiving notifications like I should.

Here, it's the same, on Android 7.0 and Redmi Note 4X Global.

I've found something: On the phone, switch on GCM - Settings - Device Connection Aid, maybe this helps. I'm now testing this, too.

Update Bluetooth Connection in Connect Mobile for Android
Starting with the 3.11 release of Garmin Connect Mobile for Android, we have introduced an option to update the Bluetooth connection from within the Connect Mobile application to use the native Android Bluetooth system pairing. Updating to system level pairing may resolve any issues currently experienced with Bluetooth connection or syncing with your phone.

    To update your Bluetooth connection:

Open Connect Mobile application on compatible Android phone
    Select (Menu)
Scroll down and select Garmin Devices
Press and hold on the device you wish to pair using system level Bluetooth pairing
    Select Update Connection
Enter the pairing code displayed on the Garmin device in the Bluetooth prompt on the phone
Once the device has re-paired itself, the connection update is complete. If you experience issues when using this updated Bluetooth pairing, you can easily revert back to pairing within Connect Mobile only.

To revert back to original Connect Mobile Bluetooth pairing:

Open Connect Mobile application on compatible Android phone
    Select (Menu)
Scroll down and select Garmin Devices
Press and hold on the device you wish to remove system level Bluetooth pairing from
    Select Remove Device
Doing the above should also remove the device from the phones native Bluetooth settings. This can be verified by going into your phone Bluetooth settings menu and looking under Paired Devices. Once you have verified this, the Garmin device will need to be re-paired in Connect Mobile.

Any word on this topic? I tried this when my vivosmart HR was new in January and it didn't matter which of the two settings I used.

My phone buzzes at least one time per hour most of the day with either setting. Better some days worse others. Today it buzzes every several minutes.

I managed to get the band to not buzz when it has Bluetooth issues but I have not managed to get the phone to ignore Bluetooth issues.

I have no idea what the buzzes mean. Battery low? Since it does not display I can't tell. I plug mine in daily when I', in the showed each morning and I have no idea if that's enough. it seems to have no effect if I forget to plug it in any one morning.
  • I finally managed to switch the BT connection, by using an Android 5 phone. Then, I was able to connect the VA HR and my Android 7 phone directly to BT, and after a while the Garmin Connect Mobile app detected the VA HR as connected. Now I'm testing if this helps to gain a stable connection between phone and VA HR.

Since I upgrade my android version to Nougat the stability of the bluetooth connection was bad, lots of breaks and disconnections.

After some search found out that was the battery optimization of the Garmin Connect Mobile that was giving those problems and need to disable it.

Settings - Battery - Battery optimization (3 dots on right top) - search for all apps and disconect the Garmin Connect Mobile

Since I did that the bluetooth connection became stable and I didn't felt any battery drain on my phone

I saw a good and hoped for result after the Android update a few days ago. Since the update the items in the pull-down display have the option "BLOCK NOTIFICATION".

My Android buzzed. As it has at least hourly all day every day since I got my VAHR. I pulled down the screen. I selected "BLOCK NOTIFICATIONS". Bingo it has not buzzed since. In fact I have seen slightly better syncing since the update.

I am at Android 7.0 kernel version starting with 3.10.61 now.
